The Firm

Built around one idea, applied twice.

Dimalith was established in 2023 as a systems engineering practice. The conviction behind it has not changed: the discipline that makes an enterprise data platform trustworthy is the same discipline that makes a physical product manufacturable.

Origin

Why the firm exists.

The firm began in enterprise data: governance, identity, integration. Work that is unglamorous, deeply consequential, and almost always inherited in worse condition than anyone admits.

What became clear across those engagements is that the failures were never really about technology. They were architectural: unclear ownership, interfaces designed without a contract, decisions made once and never written down. The remedy was always the same: define the system properly before building more of it.

Product engineering was a deliberate extension of that same method into a domain where the constraints are physical and the feedback is unforgiving. A schema can be migrated. A mold tool cannot. Designing hardware sharpened the rigor we bring back to the data side.

Dimalith remains deliberately small. We take on work we are equipped to do properly and decline the rest.

Principles

How we operate.

01

Architecture before implementation

Nothing gets built until the system is understood on paper and the trade-offs are explicit. It is the cheapest stage at which to be wrong.

02

Say the difficult thing early

If a scope is unrealistic, a platform is the wrong choice, or a part will not mold, you hear it at the start. Late honesty is expensive for everyone.

03

Senior hands on the work

The people who scope an engagement deliver it. No handoff to a team you have not met, and no layer of account management between you and the engineers.

04

Leave it maintainable

Success is your team owning the result confidently after we leave. Documentation and handover are part of the engagement, not an upsell.

05

Discretion by default

Client work, architectures and product designs stay confidential. We do not publish client names or case studies without written consent, which is why you will not find them here.
